Cassava Pie

Cassava Pie

Cassava or as we call it kamoteng-kahoy is one of the best root crops for Ilocano and Filipino. In fact many delicacies have been cook by our forefathers and passed unto this generations. The tradition lives on for delicacy because of this root crop and other root crop cook into a delicious snack or merienda.

Ilocanoso delicacy never fails to make us crave for more. Aside from bibingka, the fusion of this ingredient to other ingredient mold into a delicious food. Just like the delicacy made from cassava or the cassava pie.

Ingredients

The ingredients include cassava root crops (of course), margarine, cheese, milk and coconut milk.  Hey, this is basic because cassava delicacy always needs coconut milk.  You will also need some ingredients like oil, sausage, beef, onion tomato sauce and cheese.

How to cook?

Cook the cassava then mash adding the margarine, grated cheese, milk and coconut milk.  In other pan, fry the onion with other ingredients for filling and then put it in the mashed cassava, put again some grated cheese then bake to cook.

The cassava pie really hooks you once you tasted it.  Who would really care for pizza pie when you have the cassava pie?
